IP/MPLS Network Presales Engineer

Job Description

IP/MPLS Network Pre-Sales Engineer you will be required to work closely with Worldwide Sales/Pre-Sales teams and support various back-office tasks for our Global Sales teams while serving as an advocate for customer needs in front of the R&D teams.

These include shaping the future of our products from IP/MPLS perspective, you will be involved in the company’s on-going product roadmap and pre-sales activities related to IP/MPLS features, cost-efficient Bill of Material creation and review, RFP/RFI (Request for Proposals/Info) responses.

IP/MPLS Network Pre-Sales Engineer goals and objectives:

  • Utilize outstanding technical and communication skills to provide our clients with excellent network support to ensure smooth and reliable operation for the fulfilment of business objectives and processes;
  • Design, configure and validate routing protocols including BGP, MP-BGP, eBGP/iBGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP and IS-IS and other routing protocols as necessary;
  • Resolve and understand network performance related issues such as malfunctions of network hardware and software;
  • Bring cutting edge thinking relative to the deployment and implementation of configuration L3/MPLS devices;
  • Collaborate with a highly committed cross-functional team in providing technical leadership regarding network technology and deployments to various internal teams, including HQ Pre-sales, Regional Sales People and Sales Engineers worldwide, Post-sales, Services, Marketing and Product management;
  • Take ownership of deriving a best practice policy for network design;
  • Commitment to company & project goals;
  • Makes decision based on accurate data;
  • Choose the optimal solution considering customer requirements, available portfolio and market trend stressing our solution value from customer perspective;
  • Respond at customer Request for Proposal/Info showing “Out of the Box” way of thinking in order to meet customer requirement while maximizing Ceragon’s chances to win;
  • Demonstrating creativity & innovation in generating cost-effective winning solutions;

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate has the following:


  • BSc/BA Telecommunications/Computer Science or equivalent;
  • 3+ years exposure to or experience in Product Management / Pre-Sales / System Engineering or Network Engineering in the field of packet networks;
  • Experience in at least one of the following technologies: TCP/IP Protocols, Network Interfaces Routing Protocols (OSPF/BGP,/MPLS/RIP), Ethernet Switches (VLAN/VXLAN/STP);
  • Intimate understanding of and experience with static and dynamic standards-based routing protocols;
  • Thorough understanding, critical features and common application of ISO Layers 2 through 7;
  • Knowledge of major vendors’ networking products configurations, operations, and deployments;
  • Experience implementing and troubleshooting dynamic routing protocols, QOS, network security, MPLS, etc;
  • Early adopter with interest in latest networking trends and technology;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong technical presentation skills;
  • Team player with experience training and/or mentoring;
  • Excellent English (verbal and written);


  • Cisco and/or Juniper or ALU/Nokia certifications or equivalent proven experience certification is preferred;
  • Experience in wireless communication/networking market will be an advantage;
  • Ability to work independently and provide guidance to others on the team;
  • Experience in working across multiple teams globally.
