Junior R&D Engineer

Job Description

You should be a talented and passionate R&D Engineer still early in your career!

We are looking for someone who can transition into our Bergen team and take ownership of updates, modifications, and customizations to our core products. The place of work is in our office in Bergen, Norway, and the nature of the work is such that your physical presence is required in the office.

Starting out you will work directly with a senior mentor with the goal of transferring responsibilities successively and rapidly to you as you gain experience with the various tasks and tools.

To be successful in the role you should be energetic and able to learn quickly. Your background should include electro- or electromechanical education or experience as well as skills with a CAD program for creating and maintaining production engineering documents. Good English oral and written communication skills are also required to directly communicate with internal and external teams.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

As part of our R&D team, you will become engaged in, and over time take responsibility for, several important activities including but not limited to:

  • Responsible for PDM system for all Ceragon Networks AS Bergen products (BOM, documents, +)
  • Responsible for Industrialization of new products (prepare for industrial manufacturing)
  • Responsible for Production and manufacturing documentation
  • Participate in product research, development, and prototyping
  • Electromechanical design
  • Custom Engineering adaptation of existing equipment
  • Point of contact between factory and Ceragon R&D team
  • Active participant in continuous product improvement process
  • Supporting ATEX/IECEx/NEC product adaptation and documentation during certification efforts


Job Requirements

  • Certified Electrician (low voltage systems) with relevant experience working with electromechanical automation systems

and/or

  • A college BSc. or MSc. degree in the field of mechanical or electrical design, with a minor in manufacturing and industrialization

Desired skills and experience:

  • Capable of self-learning and working in a challenging environment
  • Knowledge of PDM systems and processes (e.g. Enovia SmarTeam)
  • AutoCAD or CAD program
  • Structured and analytic work methods
  • Creative and solution oriented
  • Familiarity with NEK400
  • Familiarity with ATEX / IECEx
