Last Mile Gigabit
Wireless Access

  • MEETING THE LAST MILE CHALLENGE

As is well documented, fiber networks carry hundreds of Gigs of Internet access, but the last 50 feet or 15 meters from the street to the home can mean a rapid drop off in capacity. And what if the nearest fiber POP lies much further away than that?

The Ceragon mmW portfolio is a perfect way to extend fiber speed to the home or service endpoint via the air, without any loss of capacity.

  • GIGABIT TO THE X

We have a variety of products and configuration options to make “Gigabit to the X” a reality when fiber does not fit. Ceragon can connect to a fiber POP that is two to three miles away, via a point-to-point link, and then use point-to-multipoint (PtMP) connections, with additional point-to-point (PtP) links, as needed, to reach all the endpoints in the service area. The PtMP solution works for crowded single home neighborhoods, for populous multi-dwelling buildings and even for rural main streets. Its advanced beam forming and expandable capacity, to meet growing requirements of dense or large-scale deployments, enhance the value proposition even more.

PTMP PRIVATE NETWORKS
  • PTMP FOR PRIVATE NETWORKS

Home broadband is not the only use case for Point-to-Multipoint (PtMP). Municipalities and other governmental agencies, utilities, public safety organizations, energy companies, and any private network owner who needs high capacity, connected broadband solutions will benefit from Ceragon’s PtMP mmW solutions. Whether the need is to connect Wi-Fi access points, surveillance cameras, information kiosks, IoT sensors and monitors, or any other kind of access point, Ceragon can mix and match PtMP and Point-to-Point (PtP solutions), even supporting mesh topologies when redundancy is needed to ensure critical services.

  • MOBILE OPERATOR SCENARIOS

Mobile operators can also benefit from Ceragon’s PtMP solutions. As 5G continues its accelerated growth, small cell deployments grow exponentially faster, to support 5G access. Gigabit backhaul is needed to support the small cell deployments and especially in dense metro environments, fiber is not always an option. Ceragon’s wireless PtMP mmW solutions provide 1 to 10 Gbps full duplex data throughput capabilities and are especially cost-effective since they don’t require expensive licensed spectrum. Deployment options include cascade, ring or any high resilience topology, with a built-in Gigabit switch and extra ports, and standards-based networking and synchronization — all in a discreet and unobtrusive outdoor box.
