Assistant Manager Vendor Governance

Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW - We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Assistant Manager for Vendor Management, specializing in Installation & Commissioning of Microwave Radio technology. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful deployment and operation of microwave radio networks across various regions in India.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES –

Vendor Selection & Collaboration -

▪ Assist in identifying and evaluating potential vendors for the Installation & Commissioning of microwave radio equipment.

▪ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project requirements and objectives.

▪ Build and maintain strong relationships with selected vendors, fostering effective communication and partnerships.


Reporting & Documentation -

▪ Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to the Vendor Engagement in different projects across India, including progress reports, technical documentation, and vendor agreements.

▪ Vendor Account Reconciliations including Vendor Invoicing & Payments

▪ Generate insights and reports on vendor performance, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED –

▪ Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is preferrable.

▪ Minimum 6-10 years of experience in vendor management, project management and/or telecommunications.

▪ Strong understanding of microwave radio technology, installation, and commissioning processes.

▪ Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

▪ Proficiency in communication and negotiation, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors.

▪ Problem-solving mindset and the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.

▪ Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.

▪ Proven track record of successfully managing vendor relationships and driving project success.


Quality Assurance & Compliance -

▪ Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices throughout the installation and commissioning process.

▪ Conduct quality checks, audits, and inspections to verify equipment performance and compliance with specifications. 

Job Requirements

  • Technical Expertise -

▪ Provide technical guidance and support to vendor teams during the installation and commissioning activities.

▪ Troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with internal teams and vendors to achieve swift resolutions.


Project Management -

▪ Oversee and assist the project management teams of different telecom circles in India on end-to-end installation and commissioning process of microwave radio equipment.

▪ Support in developing and managing project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.

▪ Support in monitoring project milestones, identifying potential risks, and implementing mitigation strategies.
